Supreme Flips Old School New York With Hysteric Glamour Collaboration

Supreme’s Fall/Winter 2017 season has been all bangers, and today it revealed a colorful collaboration with Hysteric Glamour, the Japanese clothing brand.

Created in 1984 by Nobuhiko Kitamura, Hysteric Glamour is a staple of Japanese street fashion with over 51 stores in Japan. The brand’s aesthetic taps into seedy American culture from the ’70s and ’80s. The Supreme collab includes hoodies, a parka, work shirts, work jackets, bell hats, faux fur coats, coffee mugs and even a comforter set.

Some of the designs clearly harken back to the days of old school New York, when disco ruled and hip hop was in its infancy. Perhaps the dopest NYC references in this entire collection are the pieces that feature all-over typography and “FUCK YOU” graphics, a flip of the omnipresent  “THANK YOU” plastic bags.

The entire collection will be released in New York, Los Angeles, London, Paris and online this Thursday, September 14. It will be released in Japan on September 16.  But if you want to spread your guap around, but sure to save some for the official return of a legendary New York designer actually from that era.

Earlier this year, Supreme started its Fall/Winter season with Tony Montana jackets and  T-shirt dedicated to Nasty Nas, then they came through with a revival of the Nike Air Force Twos.

Check out pieces from the Hysteric Glamour collaboration below.
