Silicon Valley: The Soundtrack is available now.

PREMIERE: Hudson Mohawke Flies With “Passports,” Plus Darnell Williams Gets “BLOWN”

The industrial trap sounds of Hudson Mohawke‘s “Passports” hit you square in the chest with synthesized bell stabs and megaton bass. Mohawke is joined on the cut by Forest Hills, Queens’ Remy Banks, who hops on and delivers a chorus to let you know know his agenda: “I just copped a flight/ Soon as I touch down in your city, I’ma need that green to keep me high.” The song will be included on Mass Appeal Records’ upcoming soundtrack to HBO’s Silicon Valley.

It’s a concentrated blast from Mohawke, the Scottish producer whose Lanterns album was a highlight of 2015 and who has racked up credits working with artists including Kanye West, Pusha T, A$AP Rocky and ANOHNI. On “Passports” he’s joined by Banks, who lets us know about his international travels and what he gets up to overseas, rapping, “From dollars to pounds/ Pounds to euros/ Euros to yen/ We keepin’ it thorough/ We flyin’ again.”

Another addition to the Silicon Valley soundtrack is “BLOWN” from Darnell Williams, the L.A.-based MC and director. Taking it to higher levels like Erlich Bachman, “BLOWN” is a horn-heavy banger with crazy lines like, “Wipe my ass opinions/ Despicable as a Minion/ Pulling MILFs at Pavillions/ As old as Kimora Simmons/ And as thick as the plot is gettin’.” He also let’s us know feelings on Ubers—his driver ratings must be crazy low.

Time to break out the nice speakers for this one, and maybe a little something extra, too.

“Passports,” “Blown” and the other tracks from the Silicon Valley soundtrack will be released next week on June 23 through Mass Appeal Records. You can pre-order it here. Catch a new episode of Silicon Valley this Sunday at 10 p.m. (EST) on HBO.
