PREMIERE: SHIRT’s Thinking Of More Than the Weather on “Climate Change“
Raising the bar and the temperature
Yes, the world is getting hotter. The fact that it doesn’t feel wild out of place for a group of people to have a “summer hit” conversation in October is evidence enough of the fact. But it’s not just the heat in the air that you should be taking note of.
Queens artist SHIRT has been hard at work, earning his Masters in Fine Art in Switzerland as well as crafting his new album Pure Beauty, which drops on October 20. His last single from that project is the Zois-produced “Climate Change.”
Besides the juxtaposition of having Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata” played on the steel drums, SHIRT peels back the layers of the song from his respect and love of the game of hip-hop to global warming to his own mother voting for Trump. It’s a compact song but SHIRT doesn’t let a single word go to waste.
