PREMIERE: Domani Feels the Pressure in the Video For “Blessings”

There’s a wariness that usually surrounds the child of a star who pursues their music own career, but Domani is pushing forward. The 16-year-old Atlanta native (who just celebrated his birthday last week) respects what his father T.I. has done over the last two decades, but he’s focused on taking his own path. “People think it’s easy for me because of my family background,” says Domani. “That’s why I say ‘all my blessings cause all my stressing.’ Some don’t want to give me credit or think that everything is just handed.”

His new video for “Blessings” is centered around the theme of feeling like an underdog, but not necessarily being perceived as one. “Fuck you mean you’re out here stressing?,” interjects a skeptic on the song. “You ain’t had to stress a day in your whole life.”

But this attack misses the mark on the rapper’s main message. Everything isn’t as it seems, and struggle doesn’t always have to be tangible. ” I know I’m breaking out on my own and have my own style, it’s not easy for me even though people think it is,” says Domani.
