It’s Official: Polo ‘P-Wing’ Reissues To Hit Ralph Lauren Stores Soon
Everything foreign, vintage Ralph Lauren
It has been widely speculated throughout the year that Ralph Lauren was planning to finally listen to Lo-Heads/Lo-Lifes by giving them exactly what they want: Dope reissues from Lo’s golden era in the 1990s. Recently some photographs were shared by Just Blaze of brand new P-Wing and Stadium 1992 rugbys. And MASS APPEAL has confirmed with Ralph Lauren that the collection is coming soon.
I was initially very much against this straight retro idea. I would have preferred pieces inspired by the originals as opposed to remakes. That said, Gonna throw these on now and see if the cut is a bit more modern at least. For those who've been wondering, It's still "Classic Fit" not "Custom" as some people were fearing. But the sizing for classic and custom fit has changed over the years. Hopefully we at least don't have to alter grails to fit properly anymore!
Photos from the upcoming retro release were leaked on Instagram earlier this year, yet many have debated whether or not the release was actually real. Earlier this year, Ralph Lauren did indeed reveal reissued P-Wing and Stadium graphics for the Purple Label but nothing for its Polo line.
However, the above photos seem to be some solid proof that this line is indeed real. Blaze even commented the following:
“This has actually been in the works for a very long time. They were asking me about pieces from my collection years ago. No disrespect to big homie @thirstinhowlthe3rd at all of course. That said, the perseverance these pieces have had thru the years (and them now being reissued)are the direct result of the impact of the Lo-Life / Lo Head and collector movement and culture. No doubt about that.“
MASS APPEAL also went out to the Polo Mansion to check if the pieces were actually real. After showing the above display photo to a representative confirmed the collection’s existence It is currently unclear how limited this release will be. Hopefully though, everyone who’s been waiting years to get ahold of a P-Wing will now have a good, and actually affordable, opportunity to get one.
UPDATE: Ralph Lauren has informed MASS APPEAL that the collection will be officially announced in the month of September.
