Old Man Saxon and Mount Cyanide Do Their Thing on “On My Own”

Old Man Saxon and Mount Cyanide have dropped “On My Own,” a new track that will appear on the May 14 episode of Silicon Valley, airing this Sunday at 10:00p.m. (EST). It will also be part of the Silicon Valley soundtrack, set for release through Mass Appeal Records on June 23.

Old Man Saxon is no stranger to doing his own thing. The L.A.-based MC caught the attention of many with his “Sunday Saxon” video, in which the once-homeless rapper captivated viewers while wearing a turtle suit. For “On My Own,” Saxon strolls through a nostalgic drum pattern and old school electro touches, waxing poetic about enjoying his alone time…with the help of Mount Cyanide. Saxon offers his distinctive mindset with lines like, “Rolling a blunt/ In the lobby/ Eating unagi and never responding.”

“On My Own,” will join fresh releases from Nas and DJ Shadow, Pregnant Boy and Danny Brown on the upcoming Silicon Valley soundtrack. Stay tuned for more tracks in the coming weeks!
