Meek Mill Aims to Inspire in New Video “Shine”

Meek Mill’s DC4, which was finally released over the weekend, sternly reminded the Philly native’s doubters that he was still very much alive despite his house arrest setback. Among cuts featuring Young Thug, Nicki Minaj, 21 Savage, Lil Uzi Vert and more is “Shine,” a cautionary tale of inspiring young minds to strive for more.

The video echoes the song’s message, as Meek can be seen both rapping alone in an opaque room and flanked by family and friends enjoying the spoils of his success. Bystanders in awe whip out their phones to capture a glimpse of the street rap hero, but before the song’s conclusion, Meek warns of a serious pitfall that comes with cameras: unwanted attention.
