Listen to 21 Savage’s Spooky New Song, “100”

21 Savage has had a hell of a year, and as 2016 winds to a close, he’s getting a head start on his 2017 buzz. Below, you can listen to a brand new 21 Savage song, “100.”

The track is a noted tangent from his acclaimed work with Metro Boomin–the pair release a joint album, Savage Mode, in July–but the 24-year-old Atlanta native’s dark demeanor is expressed profusely in the song’s primary refrain, which explains its abstract title, “Chopper on me hold 100.”

It’s also worth noting that Savage does significantly more rapping on “100” than he’s done on his recent solo work. Metro’s catastrophic 808s and eerie synthesizers left less legwork for Savage than usual, who sometimes needed to only drop a few of his signature harrowing lyrics in between choruses to get the job done. On “100,” a much more straight forward production, 21 is forced to flex his vocal muscles just a bit more.

Listen to it below.
