Giggs Denies OVO Collab Rumors

“You know me I got the littlest circle,” spits Giggs on his smash tune, “Whippin’ Excursion” a sentiment not too far from Drake’s well-known motto “No New Friends.” Both artists have worked together in the past on tracks such as “KMT” and it seems like they want to keep things tight in their own domains. So it might come as a surprise to some that Giggs new album Wamp 2 Dem (UK street talk derived from patois meansing “What happen to them?”) is stacked with features—2 Chainz, Popcaan, Donae’O , Young Thug—but no Drake. After his prominent features on More Life, word on road had it that more OVO collabs were on the way.

During a recent interview on Beats 1 radio, Giggs addressed the matter: “With Drake and that, like, we done 2 songs this year,” he told Ebro via Facetime. “People have heard that so there’s no point milking it you know what I mean?”

During the same interview, Giggs touched on the fact that his inspiration to become a musician was simply to get off the streets of London. “If I was to go through it all it would sound like a sob story,” he shared. “Obviously mans coming from a real place and a real background and the police are heavily influencing a lot of stuff over here, so it kind of took me a lot longer because I wasn’t allowed to do shows and that. A lot of people are scared really because the police are calling people up: You don’t want this gangster around blah blah blah. So a lot of people were scared in the beginning. I had to like tell people like, ‘Nah man I’m a normal guy, just because you hear certain things don’t mean I’m a bad person.’ In the end when it’s good music you’re always gonna make it through.”
