PREMIERE: Fred The Godson “Different Scenario” ft. Jaquae, Jim Jones & Vado

Last time we checked in with South Bronx MC Fred The Godson, he was speaking on “Black Power.” Since then he’s been laying the groundwork for Gordo, a new mixtape dropping on Datpiff August 18. (Consider that project a prelude to his forthcoming full length album, which is set to feature Fat Joe and Rick Ross among others.) The first taste of Gordo, “G5” featuring Dave East, goes super hard. Today MASS APPEAL proudly premieres the second single, “Different Scenario.”

“I’m in Diamond District Studios with my brothers Rsonist and Jaquae,” the Godson narrates. “Of course my favorite producer Rsonist from The Heatmakerz tells me he just cooked up some crack he wanted me to hear. I told him to throw it on! Soon as it came on, Jaquae runs in the booth and laid the hook in five minutes. [Laughs] I automatically knew, Vado and Jim! I actually sent the record to Vado and he bodied it! Next day, Jim comes in and wrote the verse with no pen in 10 minutes and laid it down in two takes! Incredible!”  Hit play and judge for yourself.
