DJ Shadow and Run The Jewels Perform “Nobody Speak” on Jimmy Fallon

Let’s keep up the trend of more hip hop acts hitting late night talk show stages going. We had Aesop Rock getting his dues earlier in the week and last night, DJ Shadow and Run The Jewels performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Their song of choice? The twangy, attitude-fueled “Nobody Speak” off of DJ Shadow’s upcoming The Mountain Will Fall album. They showed up with a bari sax and trumpet to kick that extra flavor in the audience’s ears. While El-P and Killer Mike trade lines, DJ Shadow lets the record spin for the most part, tapping in drum fills and scratching occasionally. But then midway through, Shadow gets busy on the turntables during the hook.

Killer Mike closes it out by stating, “Dedicated to the victims of violence from Chicago to Orlando. Spread peace.” El-P also reveals a rainbow-filled heart on the inside of his jacket in honor of the mass shooting in Orlando. Stream the performance below.
