Watch Vic Mensa Perform “16 Shots” on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’

Election Day is upon us and with police brutality serving as one of the day’s most polarizing political and social issues, Vic Mensa took to the Jimmy Kimmel Live! stage to perform “16 Shots.” The track is a standout cut off his May EP, There’s Alot Going On, an ode to LaQuan McDonald–the unarmed black teen gunned down by police in Chicago two years ago.

The performance quickly ramped up, as Vic was tackled by two prop cops during the song’s intro, before featured guest Travis Barker induced the drums. Last month, Mensa dropped a video for the cut on the two-year anniversary of McDonald’s death that was equally stirring; actual news footage of the tragic incident interpolated portrayals of Mensa’s own tense interactions with law enforcement.

If you haven’t heard There’s Alot Going On yet, you can stream it below after watching last night’s Kimmel performance above.
