Prodigy to Release New Album and Stars as O.G. Bumpy Johnson in “The One And Only” Video

After putting out his prison cookbook, 1/2 of Mobb Deep–Prodigy–returns with news of a new album. It’s arriving this Friday and is titled The Hegelian Dialectic. You can even stream it now, early, on Pandora. If you’re more than confused by the concept named in Prodigy’s new album, it basically functions on the idea that we can advance our knowledge by considering both sides of an argument. Through this analysis, we obtain a higher truth.

So take yesterday’s Twitter argument over Nelly vs. Drake for example. Claim A: Nelly is more influential and important as an artist in time. Claim B: Drake owes nothing to Nelly and is a better artist. Higher truth: Too many people have Twitter who don’t deserve it.

Prodigy also used this week to release a new video from his 2011 project The Ellsworth Bumpy Johnson EP. The track “The One And Only” was produced by Alchemist. For the video, Prodigy strolls through his neighborhood as O.G. Bumpy Johnson, with cinematic cut sequences.
