PREMIERE: Rexx Life Raj Turns Down the “Radio” in New Video

Filmed with old school cameras, the video for Rexx Life Raj’s new track “Radio” feels warm and reflective, much like the music itself. With lazy Sunday vibes, Kyle Betty’s production is laid back and hopeful, allowing for the Bay Area rapper to look back and laugh at those who tried to force him to be someone he’s not. While he chants, “This might not make it to radio/ but up, up and away we go,” director Marco Alexander follows him on tour through the West Coast, having a blast with cameos from the likes of Freddie Gibbs, Mozzy, Mario, Mr. Carmack, and Russ.

“Sometimes when I write I feel a certain pressure to try to make a ‘radio’ type song or something for the club,” Rex tells MASS APPEAL. “This might not be a track that they’ll play at radio stations but it doesn’t matter because things are still taking off. The music reaches more and more people daily, my following is growing, etc. Everything is working exactly how it’s supposed to. That’s the message I wanted to convey through the song and video.”
