PREMIERE: Michael Millions “Sirens” Video

We hate to admit that we weren’t up on Michael Millions like that, but we weren’t. As much music as we get in our emails daily, we hadn’t had the pleasure of coming across Michael yet. It was because the homie Fly Anakin from Mutant Academy told us we needed to get down with Millions, that we even checked him out. Fly put a fine point on the fact that this dude commanded respect in his hometown of Richmond (VA).

Millions has been co-signed and featured by Richmond giants Skillz and Nickelus F, which definitely makes sense in terms of the latter, as they are both members of the AGM crew. However, he hasn’t really needed a co-sign in a while seeing as he has dropped seven projects in six years, many of which were covered and well-received by national outlets. And the name of his upcoming album, Hard To Be King, should make it clear Michael is confident that wider recognition is on the way.

Today we are giving Millions a platform to launch his brand new video for “Sirens.” This funky ode to Richmond emanates love but also documents the poverty and crime that pervades the area. The grooved-out bassline and nimble guitar riff are complimented with the sounds of “outside.” And the highly stylized visuals stroll the streets of Richmond with the occasional lyric in a retro font popping up. This is going to be your chill out song for the day, so save it for when you really need it.
