Kydd Jones And Kirko Bangz Ask “Who R U”

Central Texas artist and acclaimed producer Kydd Jones had a busy SXSW this year to say the least. With performances nearly every day this past week, Kydd Jones was front and center performing hits from his catalog for the fans at the annual two-week music, art and technology festival.

But this fast rising talent isn’t new to big stages as Kydd Jones’ resume reads long with past appearances at the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival, The Art of Rap Tour with Ice T and the Red Bull Sound Select stage. Kydd Jones is accustomed to the bright lights and big crowds but has remained humble producing material for countless local artists in Texas’ underground scene.

For his next single the young Texas upstart is blessing his fans with a new song dubbed, “W R U” (Who Are You?). Featuring Houston, Texas crooner Kirko Bangz, the guys trade verses about how their lives have changed over time while they’ve found success in the industry. In Kirko’s verse he talks about living the good life riding around in nice cars with Meek Mill, the BET Awards and enjoying Miami, but “W R U” is for anyone steadfast in their goals willing to fight past all their obstacles.
