PREMIERE: Jack Harlow “Dark Knight”

Jack Harlow isn’t your average up-and-coming rapper. The Louisville spitter with a speedy, fluid flow is not rhyming about popping pills and smoking blunts. Instead, he’s focused on turning up with friends and building his career. But his words don’t always come easy.

“CyHi told me how to deal with the writer’s block/Got me thinking maybe I was thinking inside the box,” the 19-year-old artist raps on “Dark Knight,” the new song and video that he’s debuting today, exclusively on MASS APPEAL. He sent a statement over about the track’s creation, which hinges on that line.

“Wrote this joint in a car with the beat looping on the aux,” said Harlow. “Was about halfway done and then CyHi the Prynce pulled up in the parking lot. I asked him what he does about writer’s block. Then I finished it.”

The video for “Dark Knight” also takes place in car, as Jack and his friends hang out of the windows before mobbing and dancing in a dark alley. It’s fun, fresh, unbridled energy, and there’s much more to come on his upcoming project Gazebo.
