Eminem Confirms the Title of His New Album, ‘Revival’

Eminem shifted the conversation back to album anticipation on Wednesday, subtly announcing the title of his upcoming ninth LP, Revival. The album was first teased last month by Mr. Porter, and was hinted at again recently with fake pharmaceutical ads. Em hasn’t revealed all, however. There’s still no confirmed release date for the project with less than two months before the new year.

In addition to confirming Revival with his faux-prescription receipt, Eminem may have also teased another detail about the album, “Walk on Water,” which could be the title of an upcoming single. Em is scheduled to perform on Saturday Night Live on Nov. 18.

For much of the past few weeks, the talk surrounding Eminem has been driven by his now-infamous BET Hip Hop Awards freestyle, a five-minute evisceration of Trump lauded by some and loathed by others. The debates online became so furious that Vince Staples’ commentary prompted headlines, and momentarily, the Slim Shady hype had little to do with whether he had another November LP coming. His last solo LP, Marshall Mathers 2, dropped in Nov. 2013.

Eminem energy was already high today, as the Detroit superstar’s iconic 8 Mile film celebrated its 15th anniversary. It seems likely that before 2018, we get to see if Slim’s still got it.
