Combat Jack Explains Why He Didn’t Appear on the Just Blaze and Redman Episode

Celebrated podcaster and host Reggie “Combat Jack” Ossé released another episode of The Combat Jack Show, one that features Redman and Just Blaze as guests. However, this episode marks the first time in seven years that he didn’t take part in the podcast.

Combat Jack made a serious announcement before the episode began, explaining that he was diagnosed with colon cancer and had to undergo a major surgery.

“A couple weeks ago I was diagnosed with colon cancer. I was rushed to the hospital. I had some severe surgery. I’m on the mend right now,” he says. “I’m about to jump on the journey to health with chemo. I’ll probably do some live alternative health as well so I don’t get caught up in that. I say that to say, take care of your health.”

Twitter user @Its_AKing shared a press release with the hashtags #CombatCancer and #RaisetheBar.

It’s caused a wave of support from the music industry – all wishing Combat Jack a speedy recovery.

In May, hip-hop journalist Bonsu Thompson profiled Ossé to get the story behind Mogul: The Life and Death of Chris Lighty. Ossé hosted the episode through his personal narration and interviews with people close to Lighty. You can read the piece here.

Mass Appeal sends our love to Combat Jack. Get well soon, family.
